I got my copy of Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking by Susan Cain today and was very excited to get started! I randomly saw a posting about this book and Facebook and really wanted to read because I am quite introverted.
I’m literally still in the introduction, but came across this paragraph and it really summed ME up…often times if you are not introverted it is really difficult to understand where we’re coming from:
“Now that you’re an adult, you might still feel a pang of guilt when you decline a dinner invitation in favor of a good book. Or maybe you like to eat alone in restaurants and could do without the pitying looks from fellow diners. Or you’re told that you’re ‘in your head too much,’ a phrase that’s often deployed against the quiet and cerebral. Of course, there’s another word for such people: thinkers.”
Excited on what I’ll learn from this book! Already incredibly insightful!
